many beds are available in the mountain home?
A. Strict maximum occupancy is 13 People sleeping in the house.
Bedding: (Sleeps 13) (we keep a spare twin mattress in the closet if
needed.)
Master Suite: King Bed (sleeps 2)
Guest Master Suite: King Bed (sleeps 2)
Guest Bedroom: Queen Bed (sleeps 2)
Children's Bedroom: 1 bunk beds and queen bed
(sleeps 4)
Children's Family room: Sofa (Inflatable Mattress in room sleeps 2)
Q. Do
you offer roll-away beds?
A. We do not have any cots or roll-away beds. You are welcome to bring
sleeping bags for young children if you like. (we do keep one spare twin
mattress in a storage closet)

are your lowest rates?
A. Our lowest rates are from September until mid-December.

Q. Can we have guests visit us while we stay at the
house?
A. Yes you can have another family over for dinner, but no parties are
allowed. There can never be more than 18 people in the home at any one
time. Any Guests who violate this strict policy will be asked to leave
immediately and no refund will be given.
Q. What
do we do with our garbage?
A. All "Normal" garbage should be thrown away in your own trash
can in the garage. Garbage pick-up is on Tuesday so please bring the garbage
out to the cul de sac as they will NOT come down the driveway to pick
it up. Make sure the lid is closed tightly to prevent any animals
getting into the garbage prior to pick-up. All recyclables should be placed
in the proper container.
Q. Is
there a daily maid service?
A. No, our home is your "home away from home." We clean the
unit at the end of your stay. During your stay, each unit has its own
laundry room if you want to freshen up your towels or linens. If you request
additional cleaning there will be a charge of $250 per scheduled
cleaning (Usually
takes 2 people 3 hours to clean and change linens during a mid-stay
cleaning. Any
additional cleaning must be set up in advance.
Q. How
far to the town of Telluride?
A. You can take a beautiful, free 12-minute Gondola ride to town.
Q. What is Dial-a-Ride?
A. This is an amazing free service that comes with the house. Dial-a-Ride
services the area of Mountain Village. They will pick you up at your door
at no cost to you. (You may still want to tip the drivers a few dollars
on each ride.) Dial-a-Ride utilizes modern Chevy Suburban and Vans with
ski and bike racks to provide a ride anywhere in the town of Mountain
Village. Call 970-728-8888 for pick-up and more information.
Q. What is the Gondola transportation?
A. The
Gondola Transit System is the first public transit system of its kind
in the United States. It provides free public transportation between the
Town of Mountain Village and the Town of Telluride. It is a 12-minute,
3-mile trip offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
During the ski season, skiers and boarders may access the ski mountain
from the gondola with a lift ticket. During the summer, the gondola offers
hikers and bikers free access to the spectacular scenery of the San Juan
Mountains. Pets on a leash or in a cage are permitted on designated gondola
cabins. Wheelchair accessible gondolas are available.
Operating Hours:
Regular hours of operation for the gondola are 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
The gondola stays open late to accommodate some events in the Village.
Q. What
is the altitude of Mountain Village?
A. The average altitude (ASL) of Mountain Village is 9545'. It is best
to avoid alcohol or over-exercising the first night in Telluride to help
you acclimate to the altitude. The population as recorded in 2004 is 1,234
residences.
